The scenario is that an employee works part of the year in state A, and SUTA / SUI was paid in that state for that employee in the year. Then, in the middle of the year, the employee switches to state B to live and work for the rest of the year.
Should SUTA / SUI continue to be paid to original state A for the remainder of the year, OR should it now be paid to state B for the remainder of the year?
My understanding is that SUTA / SUI should be paid to one state for one employee for the year, but I’m not 100% on that in the above scenario.

I’d honestly check the new state and see how it is written OR ask whoever prepares your payroll and state UI tax documents on how to handle. It might possibly be dependent on which two states it is. Some might allow you some sort of wage credit from the previous. But this is one time where a subscription to a payroll service can come in handy.
