An employee won’t give me his SIN or Birthday
We own a small business ma and pa. We hired someone who started working with us on January 22. On that date, I gave the TD1 form to fill out. He said he would bring it back on Monday. No problem with me, a lot of people tend to do that.
Monday passed and he said he forgot about it. Life is coming, he trained well, he looks like a good guy, everyone forgets sometimes.
Tuesday arrives and he still does not have a form in hand, I tell him if he does not have the form the next morning, he will no longer be able to work with us because I need this information for the payroll. need help with my-estub password reset?
Well, Wednesday is rolling and it has no shape. When I cross his path, it is 2:30 p.m. Since he didn’t have a form, I told him I was sorry it wasn’t going to work and sent him home.
The following days, I stayed in touch with him, asking for his information so that I could issue him a check for the 4 working days. He refuses to give me any information.
On Tuesday, I received a call from Labor Standards saying he had filed a complaint against us. I explained the situation to labor standards and all they tell me is I have to pay the guy. I have no problem paying him, he worked, he earned that money, but I need the paper trail. How do I go about issuing a paycheck with deductions and ROE without this information?
